Devon has exciting future opportunities over the next 6 months in its Grande Prairie district and are currently looking for skilled Plant Operators. Reporting to the Production Foreman, this position will work closely with the Decision Support Center, interacting regularly with other on-site staff (engineers, supervisors, maintenance personnel, quality assurance/control, plant and field operators, etc.).

As a Plant Operator, you will be operating oil battery, refrigeration units, deep cut processes with electric drivers, compressors and pumps. The position will also be responsible for maintaining processing reliability and optimal production volumes, as well as monitoring equipment conditions, initiating repair as required.

Other Duties:

Ensure that the facility is operated in a safe and efficient manner

Maintain positive relationships with landowners, business associates, regulatory agencies and local communities

Ensure consistent processes and controls are in place and working effectively to continuously improve safety and compliance performance

Reporting as required to regulatory bodies

Work with the area Lead Operator to optimize production

Ensure that facilities are kept in a safe and environmentally friendly condition

Provide expertise and knowledge to the operation where required

Troubleshoot operational problems as required

Maintain equipment as required

Qualifications

Additional Requirements:

Minimum five (5 years) of operating experience in a gas processing facility

Minimum 4th class Power Engineering Certificate

Strong DCS and SCADA control knowledge

Strong knowledge of Oil Battery and Refrigeration & Deep Cut facility processes

Sound understanding of maintenance/operations as it relates to the safe and efficient production of gas and oil

Well versed in MS Office, familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems and experience in SAP is an asset

Valid Class 5 driver’s license
