Job Location: Oklahoma City, OK
Description Provide Geological and Geophysical support to the Integrated Geoscience group. Perform all aspects of seismic and well data loading and support for geoscientists. Position requires coordination between geoscientists, technicians, other disciplines (e.g. land, engineering, production, IT), system administrators, and records management.
Individual must be a team player and flexible to meet the support needs of divisional applications and data needs, and must possess troubleshooting skill relating to Geological and Geophysical disciplines.
Locate, gather, prepare, and load well data into seismic interpretation software
Troubleshoot and load 2D and 3D seismic data into multiple seismic software packages
Provide data and software support to geoscientists and technical staff
Organize and manipulate geological/geophysical datasets in Oracle, SQL Server, Excel and Access.
Interact with seismic Devon’s seismic management team and vendors
Develop programs and workflows necessary for well and seismic data integration
Learn and adapt quickly to new technologies, workflows and standards.
Train and mentor techs across the company in performing tasks related to seismic data and applications.
Knowledge of programming languages and macro construction
Working knowledge of Petra software
Working knowledge of seismic gathers
Understanding of the PPDM Data Model and SQL
Knowledge of SeisWare Seismic software
BS / BA degree in geology, geophysics or related discipline; 5 years additional technical experience may be substituted for the degree.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in seismic data loading and as a support Geophysics technician.
Good communication and writing skills.
Knowledge of Kingdom software, Oracle, and SQL Server database preferred.
Strong initiative and work ethic to produce accurate results in a timely manner.
Must be able to work as in a team environment
