JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Shop foeman is primarily responsible for direction of the maintenance and repairs for electrical, and hydraulic equipment as well as welders, generators (3 phase 480vac), air compressors, cranes, bobcats, trucks, automatic and semi-automatic welding equipment, small hand tools, also loading and unloading of field equipment as needed by the field crews. 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

 

·         Over see and direct shop employees as well as out side vendors.

·         Clean, inspect, repair and paint construction equipment – electrical, mechanical and hydraulic.

·         Travel to jobsites to repair equipment, as required.

·         Load and unload field equipment.

·         Operate forklift, yard crane and drive light truck to pick up and deliver equipment.

·         Aid in diagnoses and repair as well as build similar equipment by using all the weld process used in the field.

·         Perform additional responsibilities, as directed.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

·         Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical information such as repair manuals, parts books, etc.

·         Ability to work with and communicate with field craftsmen, outside repair services, and field foreman.

·         Requires basic AC electrical (three-phase and single-phase) knowledge.

·         Requires basic DC electrical knowledge.

·         Requires basic hydraulic knowledge.

·         Current valid driver’s license.

·         Ability to weld or learn to weld using all the processes used in the field.

·         Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

 

 

 

PHYSICAL/SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

·         Work is normally in a steel shed at ambient temperature or in the yard around the shop.

·         Work requires travel as required to repair field equipment.  Travel is unscheduled and sometimes involves overtime or weekend work.

·         Repair of equipment in the field will be under field conditions.

·         Work includes pushing, pulling or carrying objects weighing up to 75 pounds.  Work normally requires finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination to operate equipment, hand tools and power tools.
